Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as mixed martial artist who is currently fighting with the Flyweight Division of UFC. She is also the older sister of former UFC Flyweight champ and the fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as an Muay Thai kickboxer. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut was in 2002, during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She won via TKO at the end of round 2. She then won her 2 subsequent fights and both of them at the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. This gave her the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing after which she took a lengthy absence from MMA. She returned to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui with an unanimous decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in the same decision. In 2018, she left the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's formidable strike abilities let her TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a UFC contract after the victory. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne modafferi by split decision after she won her debut fight. Antonina recovered from the loss to knock out Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her three subsequent matches she won against Ariane Lipski and being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee.
